Seconds matter when someone is experiencing a stroke, heart attack, or even a slip/fall while at home. By simply calling 9-1-1, a dispatcher can verbally assist with patient care until an ambulance arrives and a hospital can be notified ahead of the patient’s arrival.

SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) – SETRAC has united hospitals and EMS agencies as a coalition that embraces best practices for the treatment of traumatic injuries, emergency stroke and cardiac care, and to prepare and respond to medical needs caused by disasters of all types, including Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic. SETRAC is the administrator of federal hospital preparedness program funding for the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is a 501.c.3 organization whose work uniting providers as a healthcare coalition fosters collaboration that is producing uniquely strong results. Those results are gaining national and international attention since emergency services improve and costs are reduced.
